SportLight is an AI software that revolutionizes sports analysis by delivering accurate detection and analysis of the determined action such as “Cricket Bowling”. Created with deep learning models such as BSN and mmaction2, it benefits coaches and trainers by delivering detailed analyses for Player efficiency enhancement. SportLight has been designed to fit any sport and therefore is a strong base for a very effective tool for sports analysis.

Sports such as cricket involve complex actions that need precise detection and analysis for performance improvement. Rex, an Australian client connected with official cricket, wanted a solution to accurately detect and localize the “Cricket Bowling” action in-game footage. The challenge was to build a system capable of pinpointing specific actions in time within a video stream, without missing crucial moments. Additionally, the tool had to be scalable to support other sports, with deep learning models that could generalize to different types of actions.
The objective was to create a marketable tool for trainers and sports stakeholders, allowing them to analyze player actions more accurately and efficiently.

To address Rex’s requirements, we developed an end-to-end temporal action localization system using advanced deep learning techniques. The project was initially focused on cricket, specifically detecting “Cricket Bowling” actions, but was designed to be adaptable to other sports as well.
